Contacting and meeting with the
attending physician or medical examiner to obtain a signature and
cause of death for the death certificate.
Complete and sign the death
certificate and file with the appropriate agency in the municipality
where the death occurred. Receive the burial permit and obtain
the number of certified death certificates needed by the family.
Create an obituary from information
provided by the family and submit this information to the
newspaper(s)
selected by the family along with any pictures via e-mail.
Print custom memorial folders,
prayer cards, acknowledgement cards, contribution envelopes,
register book and personalized nameplates for casket or urn.
Receive, arrange and record all
flowers and other memorial contributions on behalf of the family.
Distribute flowers after the
service to the family home, nursing homes or other community
institutions.
Supervise and conduct all aspects
of the funeral or memorial service, calling hours, fraternal or
military services and rituals.
Assist with music selections for
visitation and services including arrangement of specialized live
music such as organ, bagpipes or harp.
Coordination of all aspects of the
committal service, including car lists for the funeral procession,
assisting with pallbearers, cemetery direction information (if
necessary) and coordination with cemetery for proper equipment and
arrival times.
Professional preparation of the
deceased when requested or required by law. Done in accordance
with the New York State Department of Health regulations.
Provide aftercare bereavement
services information newsletter and location of bereavement support
groups if requested.
Assist with a complete line of
cemetery memorials, including markers, plaques, candles, urns and
mausoleums.
