| | I was so sorry to hear about Mrs. Dorman''s passing. She was our next door neighbor on Frances Street in Canastota many years ago. My mother (Emily Hicks) just passed on December 10th so I know how you are all feeling and my prayers are with you. | | | Posted by: Elizabeth Hicks Sellwood | Email: esellwood@windstream.net | Tuesday, January 05, 2010 | | |
| | | My thoughts are with you, Ben and Brian, and the rest of the Dorman family. Your mom was such a sweet person, and I''ll always remember one of last times I saw her when she was at my parents house for "girls night" after my mom was diagnosed w/ cancer. I''ll also never forget how she didn''t get mad at me when I came over to your house in high school (no parents of course ;)) and broke BOTH my toes going up your stairs ;). My prayers are with your family. ~Jermain | | | Posted by: Jermain Snyder | Email: jermain.snyder@yahoo.com | Tuesday, January 05, 2010 | | |

| | | I had the great gift of knowing your Mom since her arrival in Canastota. We taught together at he Verona Beach school and remained friends over the years. I always felt happy when I would run into her while in Sherrill. She had the amazing ability to wipe away the years and make a person feel like a beloved friend. I am very sorry to hear about her death but I am sure that God has taken her into his arms and welcomed a truly genuine , loving , and beautiful person. She - was very proud of her life''s accomplishment - her six children.. She never missed a chance to talk about terrific children while flashing that beautiful smile. She will be sorely missed. | | | To the Dorman kids:
I''m so sorry that your mom didn''t have longer on this earth. I don''t need to tell you what a supermom she was. She juggled it all...family, friends, career, and volunteer work. My mom always said that when something needs doing, go to the busiest person you know. That''s the person who will help you. That was your mom! I am thankful to have called her my friend. I only wish I lived closer to pay my last regards in person. May your hearts and the hearts of all who knew and loved her heal quickly, for that surely would be her unselfish wish.
With love and sympathy,

| | | Living next to Kathy for the past year has been a privilege. She is the most generous, caring woman I have ever meat. My daughter Sadie took to her immediately, running outside every morning to wave to Mrs. Dorman as she left for work. Sadie loved making her pictures, bringing her flowers and we loved visiting with her. We have been blessed to know her and she will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dorman family. | | | Posted by: Michele & Sadie Riggs | Email: michele2211@verizon.net | Sunday, January 03, 2010 | | |
| | | Although I did not see your mother often, when we did meet, she always greated me with the warmest of hugs. Most recently, she took the time to welcome me into the "grandmothers club." On our trip home from Colorado on New Year''s Day, I read the book by Mitch Albom "have a little faith". I''m sure your mother had a lot of faith and that helped sustain her when others may have given up, She was so proud of each one of her children. I am reminded of a passage in the book that spoke of the importance of family. "It is through my family that I hope to live on for a few generations. When they remember me, I live on. When they pray for me, I live on. All the memories we have made, the laughs and the tears. " Kathy WILL live on for generations. Those who live in our hearts are never really gone. My deepest sympathy to each of you.

| | | I''ve known "Mrs. Dorman" since I was a teenager and camp counselor to her wonderful children. I was lucky enough to get to know her as an adult and colleague working as Oneida teachers. I am sincerely saddened to think that we have lost one of our best in this community. To her kids - hold tight to your memories and know how proud your mom was of you. | | | Mrs. Dorman was an amazing lady and always so kind to me. As a kid, I spent a lot of time in the Dorman household and she was always so warm and welcoming. Friday morning breakfast clubs were my favorite. Who let''s 8-10 high school students into their house for breakfast at 7:00 a.m. on a Friday morning? Mrs. Dorman. She''ll be missed by many. | | | Dear Children of Kathy,
I came to know your Mom in the 80''s when we were both substituting in the Canastota District often in the kindergarten room at Southside. We often talked and shared our families and were amazed that not only were we the same age, but we cherished our large and loving families(you''re 6; we had 5). We also found it wonderful that some of our children shared the same names--Mike, Ben and Cadi(Katie). Your mom was a warm, generous and loving woman. I am sorry to say that I lost touch with her over the years. I was aware that she was very sick. I am sorry for you but I know that you will cherish her love and warmth and pride for all of you even when you were very small. My family and I send our thoughts, prayers and love. Just a note, our son Jefferson married Megan Gamble of Wilmington, DE, the daughter of Rick and Bonnie Gamble, a longtime friend of your Mom and Dad''s. It is a small, small world. Love, Debbie New

| | | Sweet, caring, selfless, strong, generous, spiritual, humorous, sensitive, understanding, pretty, fun-loving, focused, grounded, clear-headed, nurturing, creative, strong, brave, cool, peaceful, upbeat, cheerful, family-first, loving. These are just a few of Kathy''s wonderful attributes. There are, of course, many many more to be grateful for. You must be so proud to call her your mother, aunt, sister, and, yes, grandmother. Neal and I are blessed by her friendship of almost 30 years and we will cherish her memory forever. Kathy has made all of our lives richer simply by being herself. | | | Posted by: Kelly Rose | Email: kellynrose@gmail.com | Saturday, January 02, 2010 | | |

Even though we weren''t together frequently, our visits were always natural, warm and loving. Her smiling face will always be remembered. Kathy, and the Dorman and Knipper families, are in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep in touch. Love, Susan Reilly and children. | | | Posted by: | Saturday, January 02, 2010 | | |
